Streamer Community Spotlight: Bumfluffski

Greetings! This spotlight series is meant to showcase members of our community who are not only successful streamers, but also represent values that we support, including inclusiveness, diversity, and ‘being different.’ We recognize the unique value streamers provide to the world, and we encourage you to support them! For more tips, check out our guide on building a streamer community.

Meet Bumfluffski ^_^

A bald-headed, bearded South African whose mom thinks he’s ‘bearable’.

He’s a variety streamer that splits his streaming time between console gaming (Fortnite, Battlefield series, Call of Duty, GTA series, Red Dead Redemption and “whatever games PSN gives him for free”), Virtual Reality gaming and a musical stream he and his friends have titled “Bum Jam” where they gather artists in a room, crack a bottle (or two) of whiskey and take song requests, performing them live!

An avid foodie, Bumfluffski also enjoys cooking and is currently looking to add cooking streams to his stream schedule, he’s “just letting the frying pan soak for a bit…”

Tell us a fun fact about you!

Outside of streaming, I own a development company and we’ve recently released a project we’ve been working on for three years called GeoCrown. It’s a competitive social media where users compete at various locations for exposure, followers, influence, and prizes.
I am actually a chartered accountant by trade but my passion lies deep in technology and apps was a natural (weirdly enough) transition for me. Through our dev house, we’ve built a total of 13 apps in just over 3 years so I’m pretty proud of it!

So, how did you first get into streaming on Twitch?

This was a bit of a weird one. I saw that Playstation 4 had a share button, I clicked it and started streaming to places I didn’t know existed. I recently found my YouTube account where I did occasional streaming to (deleted those embarrassing videos quickly) and started hearing more and more about Twitch. I set up an account, started streaming there without actually ever opening chat or knowing what I was doing until one day I decided to actually check out what I was doing. I aligned myself to some streamers that I loved (Chuxy and MediocreJedi) and they have carried me through the carious growth spurts I’ve experienced since March of 2018.

What is your favorite game to stream and why?

This question needs to be answered in two ways:

1. Individually I like to play story-based games such as Red Dead Redemption 2 but nothing beats cutting bob open on some Surgeon Simulator in Virtual reality.

2. As a group of people, I always enjoy the destruction of a bunch of friends on GTA V, but Fortnite must be my choice of game for streaming with the Bum Boys.

What are your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?

I am a competitive water polo player, representing my province (state) at a men’s level.
I also really enjoy music and have been through the many stages of being a musician:

From a lead guitarist in a garage band to a co-producer in an electro-duo, to a stint as a featured DJ on a local radio station and back to a casual musician with a bunch of friends.
It’s been a ride.

Who inspires you?

The easiest answer is that I take inspiration from as many people as I can. The truth is that everyone you come across, whether you think it or not, does something better than you. If you understand that, you understand that everyone has the ability to offer you inspiration, whether through conversation or observation.

The people I take inspiration from the most would be my family. My wife is one of the most passionate people I know, brushing off tough times to pursue what she believes in. My mom and dad have been handed some of the most difficult cards imaginable, but always ask you about your day and never talk about theirs. My brother is a dreamer that manages to convert dreams to opportunities that he fulfills seamlessly. My sister is a fighter who doesn’t take no for an answer, always willing to risk public scrutiny for what she believes in.

I am blessed to have so many sterling examples in my immediate environment, but these examples exist if you’re willing to look.

What advice do you have for aspiring streamers?

Understand that there are MILLIONS of other channels on Twitch and the only way to attract people to yours is in the way you market yourself, whether through conversation or other.
You don’t watch everything on Netflix, only the content that attracts you, and there is far less content on Netflix than on Twitch.

When it comes to content, the only way to create unique content is by translating who you are into the content you make.

We’re all different, no two alike, so if we create content that is who we are, we have an immediate differential.

Be unapologetically you, every single time.

Thank you for sharing, Bumfluffski <3

Meet JadedMermaid ^_^

Hi! I’m Jaded. I am a ProEsportsGaming Sponsored streamer that enjoys playing with viewers and meeting new people! I play and stream Apex, BO4, Fortnite, etc., as well as a variety of games. I play guitar/mandolin & sing on stream occasionally, as well. I’m 25, teacher gone pro streamer. I love to network & meet new people so hit me up! 🖤

Tell us a fun fact about you!

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 8! I have also been a registered BMI songwriter for over 10 years.

So, how did you first get into streaming on Twitch?

I started streaming initially for a Twitch emblem on Destiny. I absolutely fell in love with the entertainment and community streaming creates! So, in May 2018, I began building a proper stream setup and my schedule.

What is your favorite game to stream and why?

I love streaming a variety of games. As long as it is shooter/PvP, I am 100% to grind all day long! I love multiplayer games, such as COD, so that my community members can easily get involved in the gameplay & stream.

What are your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?

I love music, gaming, streaming, pit bulls (and puppers in general), reading fantasy/fiction, and binge-watching Netflix.

Who inspires you?

My family, my community, and my love of laughter & entertainment inspires me to create every day. And then to create some more.

What advice do you have for aspiring streamers?

Always be YOU! Don’t try to mimic other’s personas/traits. You do you. And always enjoy yourself. If you don’t, there’s no point!

Thank you for sharing, JadedMermaid <3

Streamer Community Spotlight: Bea

Greetings! This spotlight series is meant to showcase members of our community who are not only successful streamers, but also represent values that we support, including inclusiveness, diversity, and ‘being different.’ We recognize the unique value streamers provide to the world, and we encourage you to support them!

Meet Bea ^_^

I’m a 20 year old trans woman from England. I’m a Twitch Partner and YouTuber in the Yogscast. I create mostly Minecraft content based on competitive, PVP games and participate in a lot of cross-community events. I work with a ton of different creators every day and it’s such an honor to be surrounded by such amazing people.

Tell us a fun fact about you!

I have worked with some of the biggest Minecraft creators out there. Stacyplays, LDShadowLady and more. It’s been a fantastic experience that I could never have imagined I’d achieve. I feel so proud of it.

So, how did you first get into streaming on Twitch?

I started creating content on Twitch after choosing to diversify my content and move my YouTube livestreams over to Twitch. It was about three years ago. Since then I have gone on to become a Twitch Partner and join the Yogscast. It’s been an incredible few years.

What is your favorite game to stream and why?

The Walking Dead Game has been my favorite game for years. It captivated me and my audience. We cried, laughed and more together. It was an amazing experience.

What are your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?

I love to attend gaming events. This year I’ll be attending YogCon. I also love to play games with my friends and watch RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Share your stream setup!

Who inspires you?

My inspiration comes from many creators, influencers and my mother. The influencers I look up to make me feel excited about new projects and new mediums, and the strength my mother has shown me growing up inspires me to keep trying even when I’m knocked down.

What advice do you have for aspiring streamers?

Keep trying. It’s really hard. It really is tough. You will get knocked down, you will take step backs. It’s not about being knocked down, it’s about how you get back up and come back swinging.

Thank you for sharing, Bea <3

Streamer Community Spotlight: Anastacia

Greetings! This spotlight series is meant to showcase members of our community who are not only successful streamers, but also represent values that we support, including inclusiveness, diversity, and ‘being different.’ We recognize the unique value streamers provide to the world, and we encourage you to support them!

Meet Anastacia (aka miss_Bila) ^_^

Cross stitching, crossword puzzles, guessing on the tea leaves – you will not find all this on miss_Bila’s channel. I’m from Russia, but I’m not a typical Russian streamer. No bear, no vodka and no balalaika. On the streams, I talk about all aspects of my luxury life – starting with retelling conversations with random people from the queue at the sausage shop and ending with a trip to the strip bar “Blue Sun”!

Tell us a fun fact about you!

One day, my friends and I hijacked a patrol boat at the coast guard, so I was fired from the factory, and now I have to stream on twitch.

So, how did you first get into streaming on Twitch?

That was two years ago, streaming hearthstone. It was epic because I didn’t have professional equipment. My webcam was taped to a selfie stick, which was attached to the table with my dad’s vice to clamp metal. I was very shy, I spoke very little and played frankly terribly (I almost threw cards at random, although I had played pretty well before). But now everything is much better, because I don’t stream hearthstone. Kappa

What is your favorite game to stream and why?

Most of all I love the game League of Legends. With this game, I began my journey into computer games. The game is constantly changing and updating. I always like to play with random people in discord, discuss the latest updates and fully enjoy the fun. I love to watch competitions, the only game for which it is interesting to me to watch the championship.

What are your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?

I like to cook. Seriously, I almost do not go to restaurants and cafes. I always try to cook myself, especially if guests come. Most of all I love to cook meat and bake pies.

Tell us about your stream setup!

I already have a small collection of interesting things in the background. The inscription “MISS_BILA” is the handmade work of one of my subscribers, as well as many other things. Most of all I love the yellow toy, which I call “KOTYA”, it can most often be seen on my streams.

Who inspires you?

The best inspiration for me is my pet dog named Rodion. This breed is a mixture of German Shepherd and Beagle. In difficult times, he can cheer me up. He motivates me when I’m lazy. Just look at him!

What advice do you have for aspiring streamers?

First of all – you need to understand that you have to work hard, devote a lot of time and effort to stream. There will be many problems, obstacles and heyta. But having overcome all this – the reward will be high. Streams is creativity, don’t forget that. No need to adapt to someone, you need to stream for your own pleasure!

Thank you for sharing, miss_Bila <3

Streamer Community Spotlight: Emarly

emarly

Greetings! This spotlight series is meant to showcase members of our community who are not only successful streamers, but also represent values that we support, including inclusiveness, diversity, and ‘being different.’ We recognize the unique value streamers provide to the world, and we encourage you to support them!

Meet Emarly ^_^

Emarly is a Spanish streamer who loves video games and music. She started streaming Dota2 in 2014 (it’s her main game). She has been streaming other games like CS:GO, PUBG and now Apex Legends (her 2nd fav game). She is passionate and puts effort into everything she does, trying to entertain her viewers and making people a little bit happier! Her other passion is singing. She is trying to release some songs and you can listen some of her cover songs on Youtube, Soundcloud and Spotify.

Tell us a fun fact about you!

I’m so bad playing all games, but I really try to be a good player. You can watch me feeding and raging because of my no-hands! 😀

So, how did you first get into streaming on Twitch?

I was having a really bad time in my life (familiar issue) then I just needed a way to disconnect. My best friend showed me Twitch and then I said “OMG there are people playing video games on the Internet and meeting great people? I have to try it!” Twitch helped me a lot to pass my bad time and made me disconnect from my personal nightmare.

What is your favorite game to stream and why?

Dota2 is my main game. I think it’s the best MOBA because of its mechanics, its difficulty, its graphics, everything. I love Dota2! But now I’m playing Apex Legends a lot, I just think it’s the best FPS Battle Royale game on the market and I need to support it!

What are your favorite hobbies outside of streaming?

I work as a UX/UI designer but my real passion is singing. I’d love to be an artist and sell my music, but I know it’s just a dream!

Who inspires you?

My inspiration in life is make people happier. Trying to help people disconnect from their problems. Inspire people to know more about empathy, respect and happiness. I’m vegan so I would love to share all my knowledge with my viewers and let them choose the best for their souls.

What advice do you have for aspiring streamers?

First of all: stream because you like playing video games and you want or need to make new virtual friends. Stream because you have enough free time to do it! Do it like a hobby. Always like a hobby! Stream the content that you love. Don’t go for the last releases just because you think it will give you viewers. It can happens sometimes but if you do it for a long period you will feel frustrated because you will notice that people are not watching you because who you are, they will be watching you only because you are playing that new game! ALWAYS BE YOURSELF.

We couldn’t agree more, Emarly. Thank you for sharing <3
